Shared Projects

The first shared project undertaken by the group was a huge sampler.

Members were encouraged to make at least one 5 inch square utilising any textile technique(s). The only stipulations were that it must only use greens and blues and the overall design must incorporate stripes.  The squares were then joined with safety pins to make an attractive display piece illustrating a huge variety of embroidery techniques as well as forming a coherent whole. (The safety pins allowed it to change shape if required.)

Our second shared project was a pieced hanging to be located in the stairwell of the Salvation Army Citadel in Sheffield, which is the venue for our meetings. Component pieces use the colours and motto of the Salvation Army.
